The way it’s always been

Born kicking and screaming

the doctors slap on the ass

a first of many abuses

violence being the social

lubricant of life while

simple patience runs in

short supply

smacked, admonished

screamed at sneered at

mentally

psychologically

physically

sexually abused

terrorized with a poisoned love

indoctrinated by a pure hate

abandoned through indifference

ignored judged criticized

ridiculed disciplined

circumspect disoriented

a loner with anti-social

tendencies unmoved by

the nuances of society

and civilization incapable

of feelings or empathy

barren as a desert

cold as space

never given a chance

from the start

chastised for hard earned

success and despised in

defeat the simple metric

of achievement measured

with a math that isn’t

taught in public schools

nor endowed without the

sacrifice of

ethics

and

morals

left to die alone

forsaken neglected disused

secluded in a solitary

state bereft of any

sort of substance

or community

division is desire

the grift a single truth

accusations hiding

blatant hypocrisy
