The corner streetlight
down on the corner
there is a slightly
crooked streetlight that
provides good light
every night without fail
an envelope of darkness
falling along the edges
of the cascading light
where people walk by
with pets or just talking
on their phones the small
beams of light trailing off
in the distance
but it is the sharp contrast
from the energy of the
dance of wavelengths
against the still darkness
that has me blanketed in
the shadows content
with the solitude
