At an angle from side to side
Sitting cross-legged on the edge
of a field of sunflowers watching
the bees do their thing as the
earth spins above me in axial rotation
completing a sidereal day while
constantly turning towards the
east with a conserved angular
motion of preserved momentum
over the extent of four and a half
billion years creating the
coriolis effect under which
the sun or shadow might pause
like me to consider those bees on
the edge of this field of tall brilliant
sunflowers tracking from east to west
as the day turns to night at the
lazy pace of 1,000 miles per hour
